Joseph Ankrah a.k.a. JO started singing gospel as a tertiary fresher student with campus choir (Gospel Train) after conversion. The Lord miraculously changed his voice after praying Jeremiah 29:11. For years he is privileged to have witnessed and some blessed (as they believed and prayed this prayer, Lord Jesus I am a sinner, I cannot help myself, I receive You as my Lord and personal Saviour, Amen) by giving their lives to Jesus Christ, spoke with new tongues, healed, strengthened in the Christian faith. He has been with some churches choir, outreach teams, and was a Priesthood leader for years. Notable churches include the Apostolic Church of Ghana, VBC Int., Calvary Baptist Temple, among others.
Being accounts personnel, he moved to stay on the mountain in the Eastern Region. He later returned to Accra in February 2009 to join the church he was, the choir and outreach team. Having gone through some challenges which continued back in Accra but in January 2010, the Lord directed him on a music ministry for the above purposes which started and ended abruptly in 2011. From 2018, after years of "wilderness walk" (but was ministering with churches choir) by God's grace, mercies, and prayers, he is up to fulfil the ministry call. He participated with over 1,000 to 2,000 singers at the Greater Works Conference in Accra in 2018-2019, 2021-2023 respectively. With 12 songs written earlier in his repertoire, the Holy Spirit has practically given him over 50 gospel songs, tunes and beats. He is grateful that Jesus is using him to touch lives. He gives all the glory to God alone. It's powerful Love it Get blessed
How God Led Me to This Ministry
Born into a family of worshippers, I grew up surrounded by the sounds of praise. My parents were worship leaders, and our home was always filled with songs of faith. At age 7, I sang my first solo in church—a moment that would define my destiny.
During a youth conference, I had a life-changing encounter with God. He spoke clearly to my heart: "I have called you to lead My people in worship." That night, I surrendered my life completely to ministry, not knowing where it would lead.
After years of preparation and growth, I released my debut album "Songs of Faith." The response was overwhelming—people from different denominations and backgrounds found hope and healing through the music. It was confirmation that I was on the right path.
Despite global challenges, God opened international doors. I ministered in multiple countries, seeing firsthand how worship transcends language and culture. The songs God gave me were touching lives in places I had never even visited.
Today, I continue to write, record, and minister with a deep sense of purpose. Every song, every concert, every moment is an opportunity to point people to Jesus. The best is yet to come!
The core values that guide my ministry
Every song is rooted in Scripture and sound doctrine. I believe worship must align with God's Word and bring glory to His name alone.
True worship flows from intimacy with God. I spend time in prayer and worship before every service, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead.
I minister from a place of authenticity and vulnerability. My songs reflect real struggles, real victories, and a real relationship with Jesus.
The Gospel knows no boundaries. I'm committed to reaching every nation, tribe, and tongue with the message of Christ through music.
God deserves our very best. From songwriting to production to live performances, I strive for excellence in all I do for the Kingdom.
I live by the principle that who I am on stage must match who I am off stage. Character is more important than talent.
